Toyota unveils GR GT supercar with V8 hybrid powertrain
Toyota has unveiled the GR GT, a new supercar developed by its Gazoo Racing division designed to compete with established manufacturers such as Porsche, Mercedes-AMG, and Ferrari. The vehicle features a front-mounted 4.0-liter V8 biturbo engine paired with a hybrid system, delivering 650 horsepower to the rear axle and 850 Nm of torque.
Engineering highlights include Toyota's first fully aluminum chassis and a body composed of carbon fiber and aluminum panels. The design focuses on integrated aerodynamics to avoid the need for large spoilers, featuring a long nose and a rearward cockpit. The vehicle is expected to reach the market by the end of 2027, with an estimated price of approximately 250,000 euros.
Akio Toyoda, the company's CEO, has been personally involved in the development process, participating in high-speed circuit testing.
