Toyota unveils updates to GR Yaris and Yaris Cross models

Toyota introduced the GR Yaris MY26 at the Rome Capital Rally, adding a 360 mm steering wheel, a Driver Monitor Camera linked to an Emergency Driving Stop System, and new Bridgestone Potenza Race tires. The model also received revised front‑and‑rear dampers and updated electric power‑steering software to improve high‑speed cornering and braking.

In Spain, Toyota announced a refreshed Yaris Cross for 2026‑27. The SUV gets a fully redesigned front fascia with a honey‑comb grille, new LED headlights, and revised wheel designs. Interior upgrades include a platinum‑tone door panel, a new SakuraTouch® upholstery made from plant‑based PVC, cork and recycled PET, and a fully digital cockpit. The GR SPORT trim adds sport‑styled bumpers, 18‑inch machined wheels, sport seats and a front‑wheel‑drive hybrid powertrain delivering 130 hp. All variants use Toyota’s fifth‑generation hybrid system, achieving WLTP fuel consumption of 4.5‑5.0 L/100 km.
