Toyota Vietnam recalls 699 Land Cruiser 300 models

Toyota Vietnam has announced a recall of 699 Land Cruiser 300 models manufactured between December 5, 2024, and December 8, 2025. The recall is due to a potential defect in the 10-speed automatic transmission, which may not function according to design specifications.

Issues identified include potential oil leaks from the transmission or a loss of power when driving at high speeds. These malfunctions could increase the risk of accidents or vehicle fires if an ignition source is present. Toyota plans to resolve the issue by updating the transmission control software, a process expected to take approximately 30 minutes per vehicle. Authorized dealers will perform these repairs free of charge.
