Toyota Yaris Cross redesign and Genesis GV70 Hybrid priced for French market

Toyota has updated its Yaris Cross SUV for the 2026 model year, keeping its 100 % hybrid powertrain with 116 hp or 130 hp options and adding a new AWD‑i variant. The vehicle is built at the Onnaing plant in northern France and now starts at €29,500 for the entry Dynamic trim, rising to €37,600 for top‑spec Trail and GR Sport versions. Prices have risen by €700‑€1,000 as the segment faces increasing competition from electric SUVs, while fuel consumption remains low at 4.4‑5.0 l/100 km.

South Korean brand Genesis showcased a prototype of its GV70 Hybrid on the Nürburgring, hinting at a power output of 250‑280 hp, a 479 km electric range, and a starting price of €68,400 in France. The model is slated for launch in the first half of 2027 and aims to compete with premium European hybrids such as the BMW X3 and Mercedes‑GLE. The preview includes subtle styling changes and emphasizes a blend of performance and efficiency.
