Toyota Yaris Cross refresh and GAC AION V debut boost Spain's SUV market

Toyota has unveiled a refreshed Yaris Cross hybrid SUV, built at its Onnaing plant in France. The model gets a redesigned front grille, new LED optics, upgraded interior materials—including a plant‑derived leather alternative that cuts CO₂ emissions by 95%—and retains the fifth‑generation hybrid drivetrain delivering 130 hp and 3.8 L/100 km fuel consumption. Orders are now open, with first deliveries slated for September.

Chinese automaker GAC is launching the all‑electric AION V SUV in Spain through importer Invicta. The 4.6‑metre‑long vehicle offers a spacious cabin, rear‑seat folding to a flat bed, a 150 kW motor, and a claimed range of up to 702 km in city driving. It features a 19‑inch wheel design, panoramic roof, dual phone chargers, and a 14.6‑inch infotainment screen. Pricing starts at €28,195 for the Premium trim, with an eight‑year/160,000‑km warranty that extends to 200,000 km for the battery.
