TP-Link launches pre-orders for Archer 8 Ultra Wi-Fi 8 router

TP-Link has announced the pre-order launch of its first Wi-Fi 8 router, the Archer 8 Ultra, in select markets including New Zealand, the United Kingdom, Germany, and Australia.

Powered by a Broadcom Wi-Fi 8 chipset based on the upcoming IEEE 802.11bn standard, the router is designed to prioritize connection stability and reliability in high-interference environments. The device features a Wi-Fi 8 StabilityEngine intended to manage congestion and maintain throughput. According to TP-Link, the technology can deliver up to 33% more consistent throughput at mid-to-long ranges and 24% more consistency under interference compared to Wi-Fi 7.

Technical specifications include a tri-band total rate of 19 Gbps, two 10 Gbps auto-sensing WAN/LAN ports, and four 2.5 Gbps LAN ports. The router also supports up to 200 devices and includes the Tether App with an AI assistant for network diagnostics and optimization.
