Trị An Hydropower expansion project advances in Vietnam

Construction is accelerating on the Trị An Hydropower Plant expansion project in Đồng Nai province, Vietnam. The national key project involves a total investment of over 3,900 billion VND and is designed with a capacity of 200 MW to support economic development in the southern region.

The project aims for completion by 2027. Significant progress has been made in land clearance, with 100% of the required 92.09 hectares handed over to the investor. Additionally, all 23 eligible households have been successfully relocated to new residential areas.

Managed by the Project Management Board of Power Plant 3 (EVNPMB3) on behalf of Vietnam Electricity (EVN), the construction involves massive earthworks, with 77.4% of the total excavation volume completed. Key components such as the water intake dike were completed for operation in early 2026, while the Hiếu Liêm bridge has finished its main structural components and is expected to be in use by September 2026.
