Turkish chambers of commerce announce elections and new regional projects
Various Turkish chambers of commerce are announcing election dates and new strategic initiatives. The Sivas Chamber of Commerce and Industry (STSO) has officially set its presidential election for November 22, 2026, with current president Zeki Özdemir and candidate Mustafa Eken emphasizing unity during their final council meeting.
In Trabzon, the Trabzon Chamber of Commerce and Industry (TTSO) has scheduled its elections for October 10, 2026. Additionally, TTSO has signed a contract to establish a Biotechnology and Innovation Center at Trabzon Teknokent, a project aimed at fostering university-industry collaboration and supporting young entrepreneurs and start-ups.
In Kayseri, the Kayseri Chamber of Commerce (KTO) President Ömer Gülsoy expressed support for a new Ministry of Trade protocol that provides commission discounts and visibility support for women's cooperatives on major e-commerce platforms. Meanwhile, the KTO is nearing the launch of the Kayseri TEKMER technology and entrepreneurship center.
Other regional developments include Alettin Ünal Turgut's campaign for the Isparta Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ITSO) focusing on industrial growth, Şenol Arslan's proposal for a food production and analysis center in Elazığ, and İbrahim Burkay's efforts in Bursa to increase tourist stay durations.
