Trabzon and Bursa focus on cultural events and tourism infrastructure

Various regional developments are occurring in Trabzon and Bursa regarding cultural events and tourism infrastructure.

In Trabzon, a Bulgur Festival was held to strengthen cultural ties between Trabzon and Mardin, highlighting a historical connection fostered by Trabzonspor supporters. Additionally, the 5th International Art Meeting featured works from 20 artists representing Turkey and seven other countries at the Kızlar Monastery. To boost tourism, officials suggested extending the season by utilizing historical sites like Sümela Monastery during winter and Orthodox holiday periods.

In Bursa, the 5th Bursa Tourism Summit addressed critical infrastructure needs. Experts noted that insufficient parking, lack of safe drop-off zones for tour buses, and inadequate public facilities like clean restrooms are negatively impacting the visitor experience. Specifically, issues in the Tophane area and accessibility to historical complexes like Muradiye are causing some tour operators to remove these sites from their itineraries to ensure passenger safety and avoid traffic congestion.
