Turkey regional tourism reports show varying visitor trends
Various regions in Turkey are reporting diverse tourism trends for 2025 and 2026. In Antalya, the total number of visitors for the first nine months reached 13,330,110. While foreign visitor numbers saw a slight decrease, Russia remains the largest source market with over 3.3 million visitors, alongside growth in markets such as Ukraine, Uzbekistan, and Hungary.
Trabzon's major tourism sites, including Atatürk Mansion, Çal Cave, and the Maiden's Monastery, hosted over 539,000 visitors during the first nine months of 2026. The Maiden's Monastery saw a significant 46% increase in visitors compared to the previous year.
In Erzurum, summer tourism has surpassed winter tourism, with 428,563 visitors recorded in the first eight months of 2026. This marks a notable increase from the 313,004 visitors seen during the same period in 2025.
Conversely, Isparta is experiencing a decline in tourism following a peak in 2022. The number of overnight tourists fell by 23.4% between 2022 and 2025, driven largely by a decrease in domestic visitors, even as foreign tourist numbers saw a modest increase.
