Tracy Mingo charged in Atlanta armed robberies using disguises

Tracy Mingo, 33, of College Park, Georgia, has been indicted on 20 federal counts for a series of armed robberies at ten retail locations—including Circle K, Subway and Family Dollar—across the Atlanta area between October 2025 and January 2026. Prosecutors say he entered the stores after hours, brandished a firearm and stole cash while dressed in various disguises such as a construction worker, a health‑care professional and a security guard.

The FBI, in partnership with state and local law‑enforcement agencies, arrested Mingo in January 2026 after observing him putting on the same security‑guard costume used in a recent robbery. He now faces charges of Hobbs Act robbery, attempted robbery, brandishing a firearm during a violent crime and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. U.S. Attorney Theodore Hertzberg noted that, “It’s a blessing that nobody was hurt or killed,” while FBI Atlanta Special Agent in Charge Marlo Graham said, “For months, Mingo allegedly used disguises in an attempt to evade identification and continue targeting innocent workers at gunpoint.”
