The 41st Trade Expo Indonesia (TEI) 2026, held at the Indonesia Convention Exhibition in Tangerang, has seen significant early momentum. On the opening day, 168 memoranda of understanding (MoUs) were signed between Indonesian exporters and buyers from 22 countries, with a total estimated value of $13.2 billion.

Minister of Trade Budi Santoso stated that the event aims for a total transaction target of $17.5 billion. The expo has attracted 16,885 registered prospective buyers, including 8,092 international buyers representing 134 countries. Featured sectors include food and beverage, agriculture, manufacturing, fashion, crafts, and furniture.

President Prabowo Subianto, represented by Coordinating Minister Bahlil Lahadalia, emphasized that international trade agreements must provide concrete benefits to the Indonesian people rather than remaining as mere formalities. He urged the government to simplify export procedures and provide affordable financing and insurance for businesses.

Various companies are utilizing the platform to expand global reach, including Astra International showcasing local MSME products, Astra Otoparts introducing updated Quantum battery designs, and Nestle Indonesia launching ready-to-drink coffee exports to Australia.
