Trade Expo Indonesia 2026 targets USD 17.5 billion in transactions

The 41st Trade Expo Indonesia (TEI) 2026, scheduled for October 14–18 at the Indonesia Convention Exhibition (ICE) BSD City, has attracted registered buyers from 113 countries. The event aims to facilitate business-to-business connections, with a transaction target of USD 17.5 billion. As of late September 2026, 1,533 Indonesian businesses, including MSMEs, have registered as exhibitors.

Top participating buyer origins include India, China, Nigeria, Malaysia, and Egypt. Beyond general trade, the Ministry of Trade is utilizing the expo to launch a strategic branding initiative for Indonesian coffee. Director General of National Export Development Fajarini Puntodewi noted that the ministry aims to move from regional recognition, such as Mandheling or Toraja, toward a unified national identity to strengthen global market positioning.

The expo will feature a dedicated area for coffee, tea, and cocoa products. The ministry also intends to shift focus toward higher-value processed goods, such as packaged ground coffee and ready-to-drink beverages, to increase export value. Statistics Indonesia reported that coffee exports from January to July 2026 totaled 208,100 tons, valued at US$1.0 billion.
