Traditional Turkish Archery Championship Opens in Akçakoca, Düzce

The Youth and Sports Ministry, together with the Turkish Traditional Archery Federation and the Düzce Provincial Sports Directorate, launched the School Sports Traditional Turkish Archery Turkey Championship at Akçakoca City Stadium. The opening ceremony was attended by Akçakoca District Governor Hacı Arslan Uzan, Mayor Alev Ünal, and Provincial Sports Director Zekeriya Arslantürk, who highlighted the growing popularity of traditional archery across the country.

The two‑day event features 660 athletes from 40 provinces competing in eight youth categories, including small and star divisions for both boys and girls. Competitions will continue through Thursday, culminating in an awards ceremony where winners receive cups and medals.

Organizers expect the championship to promote the sport and raise the profile of Akçakoca as a host for regional sporting events.
