Traffic authorities in Vietnam penalize drivers for multiple violations
Traffic police in Lao Cai and Quang Ninh provinces have taken action against drivers following reports submitted by citizens via the VNeTraffic application and other means.
In Lao Cai, authorities identified two passenger vehicles violating transport regulations. One driver was found to be driving against the flow of traffic and deviating from assigned routes, while another was cited for failing to stop at designated passenger pick-up and drop-off points and not pulling close to the curb. The transport companies involved are also being held accountable for failing to adhere to posted information.
In Quang Ninh, a truck driver in Cam Pha was caught running a red light at the intersection of To Hieu Street and National Highway 18. Following verification of citizen-provided footage, the driver faces a fine of between 18 and 20 million VND and a deduction of four points from their driver's license under Decree No. 168/2024/NĐ-CP.
