Traffic disruptions reported in Olomouc and Brno

Major traffic disruptions have been reported in the Czech cities of Olomouc and Brno due to ongoing infrastructure projects and road closures.

In Olomouc, a sudden closure in the Hejčín district on Jarmily Glazarové Street caused significant morning congestion. The closure, intended to facilitate the installation of low and high-voltage cable connections, was reportedly unexpected by many drivers, leading to delays for commuters traveling from areas such as Lazce, Černovír, and Chomoutov. The restrictions are expected to last from Friday through Sunday.

In Brno, authorities are implementing new traffic signage to mitigate heavy congestion caused by the closure of the Pisárecké and Hlinky tunnels. The tunnels are closed until November 20 for technological upgrades. To improve traffic flow, police and transport officials are introducing a dedicated public transport lane on Antonína Procházky Street and adjusting parking and intersection signaling to assist commuters from Kohoutovice and Nový Lískovec.
