Vietnam infrastructure projects see accelerated construction and traffic adjustments

Major infrastructure projects across Vietnam are entering critical phases, with several key developments reported in late October 2026. In Hanoi, construction is intensifying on the Ring Road 4 project, where the first 15km of parallel roads near Hong Ha Bridge and Thang Long Boulevard have reached technical opening. Additionally, work is accelerating on the Ring Road 1 project, specifically targeting two major overpasses at the Lang Ha - Giang Vo and Nguyen Chi Thanh intersections, with a completion goal of December 31, 2026. To manage traffic during these works, authorities have implemented new diversion plans at the La Thanh - Nguyen Chi Thanh junction.

In Ho Chi Minh City, VinSpeed announced that work on key components of the 54km Ben Thanh–Can Gio railway, including stations and tunnels, is scheduled to begin on October 30, aiming for a December 2029 completion. Meanwhile, in Quang Tri, maintenance on the Ho Chi Minh Road western branch is underway, involving four simultaneous projects to improve connectivity with Laos.

Regional bridge projects are also progressing. The Binh Hung Bridge in Dong Thap is expected to open by December 2026, while the Nhat Le 3 Bridge in Quang Tri is targeting technical opening by late November 2026. However, some projects face delays; the Nguyen Hoang - Huong River bridge project in Hue has encountered contractor delays and material shortages, leading to potential contract terminations.
