Traffic sign meanings and infrastructure issues in Germany

Information regarding specific traffic signage and local infrastructure malfunctions has been noted. In Germany, a traffic sign featuring a red dot indicates a 'red route' (Rote Route). These signs are used on frequently congested highways to guide drivers toward large-scale detours, directing them from one motorway exit to the next available entrance to bypass traffic jams. It is generally recommended to use these detours only when delays are expected to exceed 30 minutes or in the event of a full closure.

Separately, technical malfunctions have been reported at a railway crossing on the Neuburger industrial track. The traffic lights at the Grünauer Straße crossing are currently out of service due to a technical fault, displaying 'out of order' notices. While trains continue to access the industrial area once or twice a week, the city is considering a tender for a new system. The future of the industrial track remains uncertain due to high maintenance costs, which range between 80,000 and 100,000 euros annually, compared to much lower recent revenues.
