Bosnia and Herzegovina reports widespread traffic and roadwork disruptions
Bosnia and Herzegovina is experiencing widespread traffic disruptions due to ongoing road construction, maintenance, and weather conditions. Major highway sections, including the A-1 motorway between Kakanj and Lašva, are closed to all motor vehicles, with traffic diverted to opposite lanes. Significant works are also affecting the Nemila-Vranduk sub-section and the Sarajevo West-Lepenica stretch.
In the Republic of Srpska, drivers are warned of reduced visibility due to fog and low clouds in higher elevations, as well as increased risks of landslides in canyon areas. Localized traffic suspensions are scheduled in Laktaši for street racing maintenance, and various regional roads are under altered traffic regimes due to bridge reconstruction and road rehabilitation.
Infrastructure development is progressing on the Rača-Bijeljina highway, where the first seven kilometers are being prepared for asphalt laying. This 20-kilometer project aims to connect Belgrade with Bijeljina and eventually Banja Luka. Construction is being accelerated to coincide with the upcoming opening of the Kuzmin–Sremska Rača section in Serbia.
Additionally, border crossings are reporting delays. Long queues have been noted at several points, including Gradiška, Gradina, Izačić, and others, while increased traffic is being observed at entries such as Hum and Klobuk.
