Two People Found Dead in Kranj Area, Slovenia, in Shooting Incident

On 1 August 2026, a 39‑year‑old electric‑scooter rider in Ljubljana died after a crash on 30 July that police linked to excessive speed and failure to wear a helmet.

Later that morning a 75‑year‑old hiker near Blejska koča on Lipanca was bitten by a snake, likely a viper, and was air‑lifted to the University Clinical Centre Ljubljana for treatment.

In the Jeprce area near Kranj, police found a parked car containing the bodies of a man and a woman. Early forensic analysis shows both died from gunshot wounds; no third party was present and the investigation is ongoing.
