Trans ACNR and Eberspaecher expand presence in Indian bus cooling market

At the Prawaas 5.0 exhibition, transport air-conditioning specialists Trans ACNR and Eberspaecher Suetrak outlined expansion plans and new technologies for the evolving Indian bus and commercial vehicle market.

Trans ACNR announced a roadmap to nearly triple its production capacity. The company is expanding its existing plant in Rajasthan and plans to open two new facilities: one in Shoolagiri, India, by December 2026, and another in Ras Al Khaimah, UAE, by early 2027. The company also intends to diversify into battery energy storage systems and data center cooling. Managing Director Shatrughan Kumar noted a shift in customer priorities toward total cost of ownership and long-term reliability over initial purchase price.

Eberspaecher Suetrak showcased new thermal management solutions, including a high-performance 50 kW rooftop air-conditioning unit designed for diesel buses. This unit aims to address the cooling needs of larger vehicles operating in intense Indian summer conditions. The company emphasized its commitment to the Indian market through increased localization and manufacturing investments to support the industry's shift toward electrification.
