TransJordano launches 450 km biomethane corridor in Brazil
TransJordano has inaugurated the ‘Corredor Verde’ (Green Corridor), a 450-kilometer biomethane supply axis in São Paulo state. The route connects Ribeirão Preto, Sumaré, and Cubatão, providing a link to the Port of Santos region.
The project aims to deploy 100 biomethane-powered trucks by December 2026. Financing was provided by the Brazilian Development Bank (BNDES) through the Climate Fund. The infrastructure, operated by GarageLog, will be open to other transport companies.
Ultragaz, the project's biomethene supplier, introduced a refueling system capable of fueling trucks in approximately eight to ten minutes. This technology requires significantly less electrical power than conventional compression configurations. Once the full fleet is operational, TransJordano expects to cover roughly 5.5 million kilometers annually with biomethene, reducing CO2 equivalent emissions by an estimated 6,486 tons per year.
