TransJordano launches biomethane logistics corridor in Brazil

TransJordano has launched the ‘Corredor Verde’ (Green Corridor), a logistics project designed to expand the use of biomethane in road freight transport in Brazil. The initiative establishes a 450-kilometer supply axis connecting the interior of São Paulo to the Port of Santos, specifically linking Ribeirão Preto, Sumaré, and Cubatão.

Financed by R$ 140 million from the Brazilian Development Bank (BNDES) through the Climate Fund, the project aims to address the scarcity of biomethane refueling stations for long-distance transport. The operation plans to deploy a fleet of 100 biomethane-powered trucks by December 2026. The first refueling point began operations in Sumaré this month, with Ribeirão Preto following in November and Cubatão in December.

The initial phase includes ten Scania trucks operating for Ipiranga, transporting imported diesel between Santos and Ribeirão Preto. The project involves a multi-company partnership including Ultragaz as the biomethane supplier, Scania for vehicles, and GarageLog for refueling infrastructure management.
