TransNusa adds domestic routes to Waingapu, Wakatobi and launches Bali‑Phuket international service

Indonesian carrier TransNusa has opened two new domestic flights from Bali's Ngurah Rai Airport to Waingapu in East Nusa Tenggara and to Wakatobi in Southeast Sulawesi. The inaugural services, operated with Comac ARJ‑21 aircraft, began in mid‑July and carried between 70 and 94 passengers per flight.

The airline also announced its first Bali‑Phuket international route, set to start on 9 September 2026. Four weekly A320‑200 flights will operate initially, increasing to daily service in October and continuing through March 2027. Seats are priced at USD 167 and the four‑hour journey is expected to boost tourism and trade between Indonesia and Thailand. CEO Datuk Bernard Francis said, “With the launch of this new route to Phuket, TransNusa will offer four international services from Bali to Perth, Australia, Singapore, and Guangzhou in China.”
