Turkey's domestic high-speed train reaches 250 km/h

Turkey's first domestically produced electric high-speed train has reached a new speed record of 250 kilometers per hour during testing. Developed by Türkiye Raylı Sistem Araçları Sanayii AŞ (TÜRASAŞ), the train is undergoing dynamic safety tests on the Gebze-Eskişehir and Eskişehir-Polatlı routes.

Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu stated that the train, which has an operational speed of 225 km/h, is being tested under various speed and operating conditions to ensure safety and comfort. The 8-car aluminum-bodied train has a capacity of 577 passengers and features advanced systems including automatic train stopping, climate control, and passenger information systems.

Critical components, specifically the Train Control and Management System and the Traction System, were designed and manufactured domestically in collaboration with ASELSAN. The testing process aims to verify the train's performance and technical compatibility before it is officially commissioned for passenger service.
