A forest fire broke out near the Lackenbergwand on the Hochwand ridge in the Chiemgauer Alps, Bavaria. The incident was declared a disaster case (Katastrophenfall) and prompted the closure of Bundesstraße B 305. About 300 firefighters, three Austrian helicopters and two Bavarian police helicopters were deployed to fight the blaze. One firefighter was injured during the operation.

The fire stabilized overnight with no significant spread and no danger to the population. After‑fire work focused on locating and extinguishing remaining gluts using drones equipped with thermal‑imaging cameras. The disaster case was officially lifted at midnight on 31 July.
