Brazil electoral updates: Acre coalition confirmed and AGIR slate rejected

Political activity in Brazil is intensifying across several states. In Acre, the Regional Electoral Court (TRE-AC) unanimously confirmed the 'Avança Acre' coalition, led by Mailza Assis for governor and Jéssica Sales for vice-governor, for the 2026 elections. The coalition includes the PDT, MDB, PL, Democratas, and the União Brasil/Progressistas federation.

Conversely, the TRE-AC rejected the AGIR party's slate for state deputy due to failure to meet mandatory gender quotas. The party presented a list of five male candidates, violating the legal requirement that each gender must comprise between 30% and 70% of the candidates.

In Maranhão, the Electoral Public Ministry has requested the disqualification of José Francisco Lima Neres (Dr. Zé Francisco) for the 2026 federal deputy race. The request follows his removal from the office of mayor of Codó due to allegations of nepotism and administrative impropriety, which could render him ineligible until 2032.

Other regional developments include campaign mobilizations in Goiás, where Leandro Vilela supported Daniel Vilela's campaign in Aparecida de Goiânia, and the opening of legal internship applications by the Public Ministry of Roraima.
