TRE-PA suspends Doxa electoral poll for Pará governorship

The Regional Electoral Court of Pará (TRE-PA) has issued an injunction to suspend the dissemination of an electoral poll conducted by Doxa Arte & Comunicação. The survey, registered under number PA-01857/2026, had previously indicated that Governor Hana Ghassan (MDB) held a 35.1% intention to vote, leading Dr. Daniel Santos with 30.2% in a stimulated scenario.

The suspension follows a legal challenge by the 'O Pará é do Povo' coalition, comprising Podemos, Partido Novo, Partido Liberal, Democracia Cristã, and the Federação Renovação Solidária. The coalition cited inconsistencies in the sampling plan, collection methodology, and the origin of funding for the survey.

A judge noted significant discrepancies in the weighting of municipalities within two microregions—Baixo Amazonas and Sudoeste Paraense—where the sums fell below the expected 100%. The court ruled that these inconsistencies are substantial enough to compromise the ability to audit and monitor the sampling plan. Doxa must immediately cease all dissemination of the results until the merits of the case are judged.
