Overview

Legal challenges have emerged regarding the dissemination of electoral polls for the Pará governorship in Brazil.

Initially, the Regional Electoral Court of Pará (TRE-PA) suspended a Doxa Arte & Comunicação survey following a challenge by the ‘O Pará é do Povo’ coalition. The coalition alleged inconsistencies in sampling methodology, funding, and municipal weighting. A judge ruled that discrepancies in certain microregions compromised the ability to audit the sampling plan, ordering an immediate halt to the dissemination of results.

Subsequently, the Electoral Public Prosecutor's Office (MPE) sought to revoke a suspension involving a separate survey conducted by AtlasIntel. The challenge against the AtlasIntel poll centered on whether questions regarding the presidency were properly registered under state-level protocols. Prosecutors argued that the company had complied with legal requirements by maintaining two distinct, concurrent registrations in the PesqEle system: one for state positions and a national registration covering the presidential race.
