Deltan Dallagnol's Senate candidacy registration maintained by TRE-PR

The Regional Electoral Court of Paraná (TRE-PR) has maintained the candidacy registration of Deltan Dallagnol (Novo) for the Senate, but his campaign remains suspended by a decision from the Superior Electoral Court (TSE).

Dallagnol faces legal challenges regarding his eligibility under the ‘Ficha Limpa’ law following the 2023 loss of his federal deputy mandate. While the TRE-PR upheld his registration, the TSE has imposed a preliminary injunction suspending his campaign activities, including the use of public funds, radio and television advertising, and participation in debates.

Following reports that Dallagnol continued to post electoral content on social media despite these restrictions, the TRE-PR ordered him to either deactivate his Instagram account or remove all electoral propaganda within 24 hours. The court noted that maintaining the profile with campaign material constitutes a violation of the TSE's order. The final decision regarding the validity of his candidacy now rests with the TSE.
