Trekking routes in Rasuwa and Dhading reopen after floods
The Tamang Heritage Trail in Rasuwa and the Ruby Valley trekking route in Dhading have reopened to tourists following the construction of a temporary footbridge over the Bhotekoshi River at Syafrubesi. The routes were previously damaged by flooding on August 26.
According to the Rasuwa Nuwakot Tourism Society, the bridge restores access to Syafrubesi, allowing the approximately 1,000 annual visitors to the Tamang Heritage Trail and the 400 to 500 annual visitors to the Ruby Valley route to resume their journeys. The trails offer views of the Ganesh Himal and Langtang ranges, as well as access to various lakes and traditional Tamang villages.
Additionally, the Manaslu-Larke Pass trekking area, which was disrupted by flooding in the Budhigandaki River in Gorkha, has also reopened. Other destinations previously affected by the Bhotekoshi flood, such as Langtang, Kyanjin, and Gosaikunda, had already resumed operations.
