Trendyol and T3 Foundation conclude TEKNOFEST E-commerce Competition

The E-commerce Competition, organized through a collaboration between Trendyol and the T3 Foundation as part of the TEKNOFEST 2026 Southeast program, has concluded. The event aimed to encourage innovative approaches in data science, artificial intelligence, and e-commerce technologies by tasking young participants with solving real-world problems.

A total of 544 teams and 1,700 contestants applied for the competition. During a 21-day preliminary stage held on the Kaggle platform, participants generated 11,400 different predictions to test their data-driven models. Following the preliminaries, 10 teams consisting of 32 finalists presented their projects to a jury.

The primary objective was to improve the e-commerce search experience by analyzing the semantic connection between user search intent and products. Participants developed solutions by integrating search terms, product names, category hierarchies, and detailed attributes such as material, color, and style.

The ArmaTerimi team won first place, receiving 150,000 TL. The second-place team, abdül basitadam, was awarded 120,000 TL, and the Dream Team took third place with 100,000 TL. The award ceremony was attended by Trendyol CTO Cenk Çivici and T3 Foundation Vice President İrem Bayraktar Aksakal.
