Anas imposes weight limit on Lombardo Bridge and reopens RA8 viaduct in Ferrara
From midnight on 9 July, Anas enforced a 26‑tonne weight limit on the Lombardo Bridge (state road 309) in Chioggia, allowing only local public‑transport vehicles to pass. The restriction follows technical inspections aimed at preserving the bridge’s structural integrity.
On 11 July the central span of the RA8 viaduct on the SS16 Adriatica near Ferrara was reopened to traffic for the summer season, with plans for a second phase of works scheduled for September.
During the same period, Trenitalia modified rail services around Rome, cancelling or rerouting Intercity, Intercity Notte and regional trains between Roma Tiburtina and Roma Ostiense to enable construction of the new Pigneto station. Bus replacements were provided for affected routes.
Additional temporary road measures were announced in Lombardy and Piedmont: the provincial road 33 in San Colombano Certenoli will be closed from 13‑17 July, while the provincial road 65 over the Anza river will be shut from 14 July to 11 December for demolition and reconstruction of the bridge. A night‑time closure of Ponte 2 Giugno in Fiumicino was also ordered for urgent maintenance on 9‑10 July.
