Trent Thornton reacts with dugout meltdown after Cubs pitching struggles

Chicago Cubs reliever Trent Thornton experienced a visible outburst in the dugout following a difficult fifth inning during a game against the Milwaukee Brewers at Wrigley Field.

Thornton initially entered the game in the fourth inning and successfully struck out Luis Lara to neutralize a scoring threat. However, his performance shifted in the fifth inning after he struck out Christian Yelich. He subsequently allowed a walk to Joey Ortiz and two consecutive singles to Cooper Pratt and Jackson Chourio, loading the bases.

Following his removal from the game by manager Craig Counsell, Thornton returned to the dugout where he was seen spiking his glove and shouting in frustration. The Cubs eventually lost the game 9-5 to the Brewers.
