Târgu Jiu and Curtea de Argeș host major Romanian cultural festivals in August

From 1 – 8 August 2026, the municipality of Târgu Jiu will hold the International Painting Symposium “Atelierele Brâncuși”. The event, organised by local authorities, the Brâncuși Research Centre and the University “Constantin Brâncuși”, brings together painters from five European countries. Curator Georgiana Brandt selected the participants, and the final exhibition will open on 8 August at Pavilion Art 360.

Meanwhile, from 30 July to 2 August 2026, Curtea de Argeș will host the 19th edition of the Folk Crafts Fair in front of the George Topîrceanu Cultural Center. The fair showcases traditional Romanian handicrafts and includes concerts and recitals by local music groups. It is organised jointly by the cultural centre and the Curtea de Argeș City Hall.
