Trại Buôn Người film receives positive early reviews in Vietnam

The Vietnamese film ‘Trại Buôn Người’ (Human Trafficking Camp) is generating significant social media discussion following its initial screenings. Directed by Toni Dương Bảo Anh, the survival action film explores the harrowing reality of human trafficking and the ‘easy work, high pay’ scams occurring in border regions.

Early reviews have praised the film for its large-scale production, intense action sequences, and compelling atmosphere. Some viewers have compared its quality to Hollywood productions, though some critics noted minor script issues, such as predictable plot points and rapid pacing in certain segments.

The film has also been recognized by the Vietnam Records Organization (VietKings) for being a modern social-themed cinematic work with the largest scale of large-scale scenes and the highest number of cast and crew members.

Notably, veteran artist NSND Như Quỳnh, aged over 70, joined the production by traveling from North to South Vietnam to play a mother searching for her son within the trafficking camp. The film is scheduled for nationwide release on September 25.
