Trinamool Congress faces dispute over party name and election symbol

Political tensions in West Bengal have escalated regarding a dispute over the Trinamool Congress (TMC) party name and its election symbol, ‘two flowers on grass’. As TMC leader Mamata Banerjee traveled to Delhi to meet with the Election Commission, West Bengal minister Dilip Ghosh commented that the final decision rests with the constitutional authorities and the Election Commission.

Ghosh noted that the future of the TMC remains uncertain until the commission reaches a verdict. Additionally, Ghosh addressed a controversy involving BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari, who faced criticism after consuming fish as an offering at the Kalighat Temple. Ghosh defended the act, stating that religious traditions and dietary choices vary across different temples and individuals should have the freedom to follow their own customs.
