Tripura Chief Minister launches development projects in Unakoti

Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha has highlighted the state's rapid progress, noting a NITI Aayog report that positions Tripura as a frontrunner in several sectors. The state currently ranks second in the Northeast in terms of Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) and per capita income.

In the Unakoti district, the Chief Minister inaugurated and laid foundation stones for 18 development projects valued at approximately Rs 45.68 crore. These initiatives cover various sectors, including education, healthcare, road connectivity, electricity, and rural development. Since December 2022, the state has allocated roughly Rs 197.68 crore for 56 projects in the Unakoti district alone.

Saha also emphasized the importance of boosting tourism infrastructure in Unakoti, citing its historical, archaeological, and religious significance. He noted that enhancing tourism could stimulate the local economy and create more employment opportunities. Additionally, the Chief Minister mentioned that Tripura's agricultural products, such as honey, pineapple, and jackfruit, are now being exported both domestically and internationally.
