Tripura chief minister touts rapid economic growth and new investment push
Chief Minister Manik Saha said Tripura is among India's fastest‑growing states, having doubled its Gross State Domestic Product in six years. He highlighted large‑scale public investments in highways, railways, airports, internet connectivity, waterways and banking that have boosted the state's infrastructure. The state boasts abundant natural resources such as natural gas, rubber, GI‑tagged Queen pineapple, agarwood, bamboo and horticultural products.
Saha announced reforms that placed Tripura first in the national deregulation rankings, emphasizing land‑use simplification, a single‑window approval portal (SWAAGAT) and risk‑based inspections. More than 500 business leaders attended the Destination Tripura Business Conclave 2026, where proposals worth over ₹30,000 crore were received and projects valued at over ₹8,000 crore have been approved. Specific opportunities cited include rubber processing, bamboo value‑chain parks, agar‑related industries, cold‑chain logistics, fruit processing, and fish‑feed manufacturing.
These initiatives aim to attract private investment by leveraging Tripura's robust connectivity, skilled workforce and business‑friendly policies.
