Tripura CM Manik Saha opens paperless 50‑bed civil hospital in Agartala
Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha inaugurated the 50‑bed Dr Syama Prasad Mookerjee Agartala Civil Hospital on 12 July. Built at a cost of Rs 20.37 crore, the facility is fully paperless and equipped with modern technologies, including an oxygen generation plant, an effluent‑treatment plant and ambulance services. Saha said the hospital, which offers minor and general surgeries, OPD services in ENT, medicine and gynaecology, and mother‑and‑child care, is a pilot project for an integrated, digital health system across the state. He promised to replicate similar hospitals in all municipal and nagar panchayat areas if the model proves successful, noting that referrals to other states have fallen by 83 percent. The CM also highlighted recent achievements such as seven successful kidney transplants and plans for heart and liver transplant programmes.
