Tripura CM Manik Saha meets PM Narendra Modi to push AIIMS and infrastructure upgrades
On May 26, 2026, Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi. Saha sought central support for an All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Tripura and the extension of the National Highway from Kamalpur to Shantir Bazar. He also raised proposals for expanding the dairy sector, upgrading sports facilities, completing double‑line railway tracks, introducing Vande Bharat train services, creating technology‑sector jobs, boosting tourism, and increasing allocations under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, Eklavya Model Residential Schools and Antyodaya Anna Yojana for the Bru community. Additional requests included more natural‑gas allocation for state projects. Saha praised flagship schemes such as Digital India, Swachh Bharat, Ayushman Bharat and highlighted infrastructure progress under Modi’s leadership. He also congratulated Modi on completing twelve years in office and on the BJP’s decisive victory in the recent West Bengal assembly election.
