Tripura GSDP doubles in six years, reports CM Manik Saha
Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha reported significant socio-economic progress during the state-level Independence Day celebrations. He stated that the state's Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) has doubled in the last six years, with per capita income approaching the national average.
Saha highlighted the success of the ‘Destination Tripura: Business Summit’, noting that 468 Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) were signed, representing potential investments of approximately Rs 1.32 lakh crore. The summit also saw participation from representatives of ten foreign embassies.
In terms of governance and social welfare, the Chief Minister noted that Tripura has successfully implemented e-office systems from the state level down to the Panchayat level. He also mentioned a partnership with AIIMS, New Delhi, to enhance healthcare facilities at GBP Hospital. Other achievements cited include national recognition for rural development, agricultural support for thousands of farmers, and the rehabilitation of Bru families repatriated from Mizoram.
