Tripura expands medical education capacity to 400 MBBS seats

Tripura has significantly expanded its medical education capacity, now offering approximately 400 MBBS seats across three National Medical Commission (NMC) recognised institutions. This represents a near doubling of capacity from previous years.

Agartala Government Medical College (AGMC), the state’s flagship institution, provides 150 annual MBBS seats and is affiliated with Tripura University. It is attached to the multi-speciality Govind Ballabh Pant (GBP) Hospital. Tripura Medical College (TMC) offers 100 seats annually through a mix of state and management quotas. The state’s medical admission process is conducted entirely online, providing a different competitive landscape for NEET UG aspirants compared to larger Indian states.
