Triumph launches upgraded Trident 660 and considers Tiger 400 adventure bike

British motorcycle maker Triumph has introduced the 2026 Trident 660, a power‑focused update that raises output to 93.7 bhp and 68 Nm of torque. The model features a revised 660 cc inline‑three engine, higher rev limit, new throttle bodies, larger airbox and updated mapping, along with a redesigned chassis, Showa suspension, lightweight alloy wheels and full‑LED lighting. Cosmetic changes include a broader fuel tank, new colour schemes (Cosmic Yellow, Stone Grey, Snowdonia White) and a split‑seat arrangement. The bike will reach the Indian market by the end of the year or early next year.

Industry analysts note a gap in Triumph’s lineup for a sub‑500 cc adventure machine. The existing Scrambler 400 X serves a dual‑sport role, but adventure riders in India and other markets seek greater wind protection, fuel capacity and touring comfort. Triumph’s 349 cc platform could underpin a Tiger 400, delivering around 40 hp, with potential upgrades such as a larger tank, taller windscreen, longer‑travel suspension and enhanced luggage options. The discussion reflects growing demand for affordable adventure motorcycles in India, where competitors like KTM, Royal Enfield and BMW already offer models in the segment.
