Trivia Trens takes over São Paulo commuter lines 11, 12, 13 and Expresso Aeroporto

On 21 July 2026 the private consortium Trivia Trens, controlled by Grupo Comporta, began operating the CPTM commuter‑rail lines 11‑Coral, 12‑Safira and 13‑Jade in the São Paulo metropolitan area, as well as the Expresso Aeroporto service linking Barra Funda to Guarulhos Airport. The 25‑year concession is valued at R$ 14.3 billion and includes a programme of upgrades: construction of new stations, extensions of line 13 to Bonsucesso and line 11 to César de Souza, modernisation of signalling and infrastructure, and a plan to raise daily ridership from about 900 000 to 1.3 million by 2040. The transition is phased, with CPTM supervising the hand‑over; existing fares, schedules and ticket integration remain unchanged for passengers. After the hand‑over CPTM will retain operation only of line 10‑Turquesa, which serves the Grande ABC region. The concession aims to improve capacity, reduce train intervals and expand network coverage across São Paulo’s eastern suburbs and neighboring municipalities.
