Türkiye formalizes hosting of COP31 climate summit
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has approved four international agreements, which have now been published in the Official Gazette. A key component of these agreements is the formalization of the process for Türkiye to host the 31st Conference of the Parties (COP31) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change.
The approved documents also include protocols related to the Instrument for Pre-accession Assistance (IPA II). Specifically, these involve financing agreement amendments between the Government of Türkiye and the European Commission regarding the 2020 Annual Action Program, as well as an addendum for the 2016 Annual Action Program. Additionally, a memorandum of understanding regarding data was approved, following agreements signed in Bonn.
