Turkey economic projections focus on inflation and 2027 wage adjustments

Economic projections in Turkey are focusing on upcoming inflation data and the subsequent impact on wages, pensions, and rental rates. The Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) is scheduled to announce September inflation data on October 5, 2026, which will determine the legal ceiling for rent increases in October.

Discussions regarding the 2027 minimum wage are also intensifying. Economic scenarios suggest potential net wage increases of 20%, 25%, or 30%, which would directly influence severance pay ceilings and unemployment benefits. For 2026, the gross minimum wage stands at 33,030 TL.

Regarding pensions and civil servants, January 2027 salary adjustments will depend on the second-half inflation of 2026. For SSK and Bağ-Kur retirees, the increase is tied to the six-month Consumer Price Index (CPI) change. Civil servants will receive a combination of collective bargaining increases and inflation differentials. Current market surveys and Central Bank projections suggest various inflation scenarios that will shape these final figures.
