Türkiye sees rapid surge in artificial intelligence usage and skill training
Artificial intelligence adoption and skill development are seeing rapid growth in Türkiye. According to the Coursera 2026 Global Skills Report, Türkiye ranks 41st globally and 23rd in Europe in the AI-Human Skills Synergy Index. Enrollment in AI safety courses has increased by 275%, while agent-based workflow enrollments rose by 158%.
Data from the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) indicates that generative AI usage among individuals nearly doubled in one year, rising from 19.2% to 37.6%. Usage varies significantly by demographic: 64.9% of those aged 16-24 use AI tools, compared to 5.1% of those aged 65-74. Higher education graduates show a 62.7% usage rate, while primary school graduates stand at 8.5%. Gender differences remain minimal, with 38.1% of women and 37.2% of men utilizing generative AI.
To support this momentum, Türkiye’s 2026-2030 AI Vision and Action Plan aims to train five million citizens through a National AI Literacy Program, alongside developing 10,000 advanced AI specialists and 100,000 AI application professionals.
