Turkey weather warnings issued for storms and heavy rain
The Turkish General Directorate of Meteorology has issued several weather warnings across the country. Heavy rainfall and thunderstorms are expected in the central and eastern Black Sea regions, specifically affecting Sinop, Samsun, Ordu, Giresun, Trabzon, Rize, and Artvin.
Strong winds reaching speeds of 40 to 60 kilometers per hour are forecasted for several regions, including southern Marmara, the northern Aegean coast, southeastern Central Anatolia, the inner parts of the Eastern Mediterranean, and western Eastern Anatolia. Authorities have warned of potential hazards such as falling trees, poles, or roofs due to these gusts.
Temperature trends show a significant increase of 4 to 6 degrees Celsius in the central and eastern parts of the country. While much of the country will experience clear or partly cloudy skies, major cities like Istanbul, Ankara, and Izmir will see fluctuating temperatures. Some high-altitude areas have already reported early seasonal changes, including snow in Rize highlands and freezing temperatures in Kars.
