Türksat migrates hundreds of channels to new-generation satellites

Turkey has completed a major technological transition in its satellite broadcasting infrastructure. During the night of August 15-16, 2026, the broadcasts of 573 television channels and 215 radio stations were successfully migrated from the Türksat 3A satellite to newer, higher-capacity satellites within the Türksat fleet.

Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu announced that the operation involved the simultaneous management of nearly 1,000 frequencies and broadcast parameters with high engineering precision. The transition was completed without any service interruptions for viewers. Because the new satellites occupy the same orbital position as Türksat 3A, no changes to existing satellite dishes are required.

To maintain access to channels, viewers may need to update their device settings. Devices equipped with the Türksat Channel Update System (TKGS) should update automatically. For devices without TKGS, users must perform a manual network scan using specific transponder frequencies, such as 12380 MHz (Vertical, 27500 SR) or 12423 MHz (Horizontal, 30000 SR), to refresh their channel lists.
